Standing up and being counted as an individual who doesn’t require a belief in a supernatural deity to live a fruitful, meaningful and happy life.

To state that there are many, many people in the world that are becoming very alarmed about the attempts to remove the separation of church and state in some countries and to replace knowledge and facts with religious beliefs … the effect of which could conceivably send human civilisation back to another ‘dark age’.

If you are reading this and are thinking ‘this may be the work of the devil’ or something along those lines - don’t worry. Firstly, there is no devil or satan or hell or for that matter a god. There - I’ve spilt the beans already, but I guess that if you are reading this far you already suspected that didn’t you?

The information and links here are made by humans - many intelligent, thoughtful, caring humans who aren’t being manipulated by any spirit or power. They don’t ‘hate god’ because to them, the sentence doesn’t have any meaning - as there is no god, what is there to hate? They don’t hate christians or muslims or buddhists or any other person who believes in a supernatural deity - but there are some things being done by some in the name of their deities that they don’t like.

If I can help in a tiny way to thwart the attempts by evangelists to force the teaching of the ‘intelligent design ‘theory’ in high schools (so far, only in the U.S) then, if for no other reason, it is worth the effort to build and maintain this website. These attempts have so far been thrown out by the courts, but they are unlikely to ever give up their madness.

“Repeat a lie a thousand times and it becomes the truth” - the quote usually credited to the Nazi Dr Joseph Goebbels - is what the evangelists are working hard to achieve. Sure, the theory of evolution is a theory - but that is what is so great about science and scientists - they are never arrogant enough to state that a theory is an absolute fact. Hence we have theories of planetary movement, of gravity, of genetics - we all (well most, the flat-earther’s don’t agree with one of them) know these to be truths but we call them theories to indicate that like any science they can be modified and updated when new information is discovered. When was the last time you saw something fall up? But gravitational science is still a theory!

The so-called ‘theory’ of ‘intelligent design’ has no basis whatsoever in factual science - period. The ‘theory’ has at it’s core just one thing - belief. If we were to use this basis to form a theory then we could use the same reasoning to state that the Celestial Teapot is a theory.
