Led Zeppelin in London 2007

Published by admin under music, video

Found this excellent footage on YouTube from a lucky ba****d who got seats in the 2nd row of possibly the best concert there will ever be (well if you are my vintage you would think so anyway). Now I just have to wait for the DVD to come out so I can be first in line to buy it!
These songs - Good Times, Bad Times (first song, first album - I was in my last year at school when I bought it) and Ramble On from Led Zeppelin II would have to be among my Led Zep favourites - but there’s so many!
According to the Achilles Last Stand website, this concert will be the last as Robert Plant has turned down the guaranteed 100 MILLION POUNDS to do a tour, even though Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones were keen. Pity, but the songs will always be with us.

If you are interested in viewing more footage of the concert with better audio quality, here’s some links:

More music…

Published by admin under music

I’m hooked on YouTube. Who knows how long before the music industry flexes it’s corporate muscle and kills off another area of enjoyment? Enjoy it while it’s here I say, and in that vein here’s a few more music vids of bands from my past.

First up - Steely Dan. I was a huge fan in the 70s and then last year ‘rediscovered’ how bloody good they were (are, Becker & Fagan are still goin strong).

Babylon Sisters. Love it.

Kid Charlemagne. Ditto.

and of course, no Dan collection would be complete without My Old School.

Music from my past…

Published by admin under music, personal musings, video

As a child of the sixties and a teen in the seventies, I feel privileged to have been around when the foundations of modern music were being laid down (sure those from the 50’s would say “what? the fifties were the beginning!”). My favourite bands and singers from my childhood and early teens were the Beatles (of course), Stones, Led Zeppelin, Joe Cocker and this band…
